Computer skills and knowledge are required to successfully complete the setup an e-commerce website. Setting up SendSafe is similar in complexity to setting up a website and an http server. People who have worked with html editing and website server setup will be able to setup the SendSafe system. If you do not have experience in these areas it may take longer to setup SendSafe (and you may need the assistance of someone that does have this experience). For more information about requirements see the Requirements Section in the User's Guide.

The SendSafe JSOF Robot is highly configurable program. All its configurations are contained inside base and storefront configuration files. There are a unique set of these files for every storefront being run by SendSafe:
You can adjust levels of security, times of operations, customize e-receipt message texts, enable debug mode, and much much more. To make these changes all you need is an ASCII text editor. Descriptions of what each statement does and information on changes can be found in the SendSafe manual. The configuration files also contain comments describing each statement line.
It is strongly advised that you back up the configuration files before making any changes.
The best way to diagnose configuration problems is to examine the audit files created by the robot. As the robot runs it keeps records of what it has done in audit files. These files can be found in the "..\SendSafe JSOF\Audit" directory (for more information on audit files see "Care and Feeding of Audit Files" in the User's Guide). These audit files can be viewed with any ASCII text editor such as notepad or wordpad. Start examining the audit file at the bottom for the most recent information and work backward toward the top.
After you have made changes to the SendSafe Primary Setup dialog or config files, you should exit the robot and restart it. When the robot starts you should press the "Operations" menu "Force Upload of Web Files" submenu. SendSafe can detect that robot setup operation have not completed successfully and will retry unsuccessful uploads. However, if you made changes that effect only web problems, the robot will not upload these changes unless you select the "Force Upload of Web Files" submenu option.
Please refer to these sections in the User's Guide for more information about solving configuration problems:
